What you get back
OpenCancer, via your AI
- "Has my tumor been tested for mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR) or MSI-H?" NCCN Guidelines say all colon tumors should be tested; the result changes which treatments fit.
- "What are my T, N, and M scores?" Ask for a copy of your pathology report.
- "Are there other biomarkers that affect treatment?" For example PIK3CA, which may change whether aspirin is recommended after treatment.

Add to Claude
- 1
Tap Add to Claude. Claude opens with the name and address already filled in. Sign in to Claude if it asks.
- 2
Tap Continue, then Add. No OpenCancer account needed.
- 3
Start a new chat and ask. When Claude asks to use OpenCancer, tap Always allow so it stops asking.
On a phone? Add it once on claude.ai in your browser; it then appears in the Claude app too. Claude's free plan allows one custom connector.

- In ChatGPT open Plugins, tap Add, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it OpenCancer, paste the address below, and set Authentication to No authentication.
- In a new chat, tap + and pick OpenCancer, then ask.
Any other AI app
Works with any app that supports remote MCP connectors. No sign-in.

- What can it do?
- Answer cancer questions with sources (diagnosis, tests, treatment options, side effects, what to ask your doctor). Find recruiting clinical trials near a place, then explain any trial: who can join, which sites are open, who to contact. Give you a link to start an expert review of your case. And if an answer looks wrong, say “flag this for OpenCancer's experts” and it goes straight to our expert review queue.
- What do you receive?
- Only the question your AI sends to OpenCancer, plus an optional cancer type. Never your name, account, or the rest of your chat. Trial searches go to ClinicalTrials.gov. Nothing reaches an expert until you open the link and choose to submit. Details in our privacy policy.
- Is it medical advice?
- No. It helps you understand your situation and prepare for your care team. In an emergency, call 911 or your care team.
- Who is behind it?
- Two cancer survivors, Ari Akerstein and Brad Power, and the Cancer Patient Lab community. About us.
- Something not working?
- Get help. Messages go straight to the OpenCancer team.
